What is a dish without a fish
As a seafood export company in Iceland, we are a huge stakeholder in the success and sustainability of Icelandic fisheries. We have a great responsibility to ethical marine management and the protection of marine ecosystems we depend on. Our advocacy for responsible sourcing is something we take very seriously and are very proud of.
Marine Stewardship Council (MSC)
MSC is an international, independent, non-profit organisation based in London and the world’s leading certification and eco-labeling program for sustainable seafood. MSC was established in order to influence producers and consumers to think twice about the impact of their seafood consumption and to recognise and reward responsible fisheries. Like all MSC certified companies, our products can be traced through the supply chain to a fishery that has met all 34 MSC standards.

Iceland Responsible Fisheries (IRF)
The Iceland Responsible Fisheries organization came about in 2009, in response to growing public interest in sustainable and responsible fisheries management. This came as no surprise given the paramount importance of this industry to Iceland’s economy. The IRF programme, now run by an organisation called the Iceland Responsible Fisheries Foundation, requires fisheries to meet standards of national and international sustainable resource management. Our IRF logo indicates that the origins of our Icelandic products are wild, caught in Icelandic waters and in alignment with the standards established therein.
